Air Liquide and TotalEnergies announce TEAL Mobility, a joint venture to launch a hydrogen station network for heavy-duty trucks

TotalEnergies and Air Liquide have announced the establishment of TEAL Mobility, a new joint venture to expand hydrogen infrastructure catering to heavy-duty trucks across key European routes.

Owned equally by both entities, TEAL Mobility seeks to hasten the adoption of hydrogen for heavy-duty trucks by establishing a network of 100 stations along major European transportation arteries. This initiative bolsters the ongoing progress within the industry, benefiting truck manufacturers and transport operators alike.

Over the next decade, TEAL Mobility plans to establish more than 100 hydrogen stations, creating the first pan-European network of its scale under the TotalEnergies brand. Around 20 stations will be operational in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany starting from 2024.

TEAL Mobility offers a viable solution for transport and logistics companies committed to reducing their carbon footprint. Hydrogen is an optimal choice for long-distance road transport due to its quick refuelling time (around 15 minutes) and extensive range (approximately 800 km), all while maintaining vehicle payload capacity.

This joint venture leverages the expertise of both founding companies, encompassing technologies and comprehensive mastery of the hydrogen value chain on the one hand and the operation, management, and energy distribution to B2B customers of station networks on the other.

TEAL Mobility facilitates the marketing of hydrogen to transportation clients through a network of stations developed, operated, and supplied by the joint venture itself.
