Walmart to Install EV Charging Network at Stores by 2030

Walmart has announced its plan to build its own EV fast-charging network at thousands of Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the United States by 2030.

This initiative will complement the already available 1,300 EV fast-charging stations at over 280 US facilities. With most Americans living within a 10-mile radius of a Walmart store or Sam’s Club, the company’s unique positioning allows for the delivery of convenient charging options to rural, suburban, and urban areas, making EV ownership a possibility for all.

The charging stations located on-site with Walmart’s Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets, and Sam’s Clubs allow customers to purchase essentials or grab a quick bite while charging their vehicles. Walmart aims to offer “Every Day Low Price charging,” aligning with the company’s purpose of providing affordable services to customers. This plan reflects Walmart’s commitment to sustainable business practices, reducing emissions, and increasing efficiencies for customers. In addition, by investing in its EV network, Walmart supports the transition to cleaner transportation, making EV ownership easy and simple for all drivers.
