KPMG LLP, a professional services firm, and Watershed, a climate solutions software provider, have formed a partnership to offer solutions that assist companies in quantifying and tackling their carbon emissions. Watershed, established in 2019, offers a software platform that aids businesses in planning, implementing, and managing climate programs. Their solutions enable companies to analyze and measure different types of emissions (scopes 1, 2, and 3) and provide dashboards for detailed breakdowns by scope, category, vendor, and location. These metrics can be benchmarked against industry peers. Through this new collaboration, both companies will combine their expertise to provide a range of capabilities to their mutual clients. KPMG’s advisory services will leverage insights from Watershed’s carbon data platform to make informed decisions and map out pathways for decarbonization. The aim is to help shared customers achieve tangible reductions in their carbon footprint.
Kristin Thayer, Head of Partnerships at Watershed said:
“We’re thrilled to work with KPMG to offer our shared customers a climate program and ecosystem of ESG services to provide granular measurement, tangible emissions reduction, and audit-ready climate disclosure.”
KPMG Advisory Partner Mark Golovcsenko, ESG and Climate Strategy Leader, added:
“Companies evolving their businesses to meet emissions reduction targets amidst growing pressure and incentives need high-quality, trusted carbon metrics and reporting. We are working with them to navigate and simplify the complexities of their climate journey. Together with Watershed, we’ll help companies action their climate programs while building trust with stakeholders and driving value.”
