CDP Expands Automated Disclosure API to Full Questionnaire for 2024 Reporting Cycle

CDP has expanded its Disclosure API to cover the full questionnaire for the 2024 reporting cycle, following a successful pilot in the previous year. Cities, states and regions are included for the first time, and three software providers — MioTech, Sungrow Power and Sustain.Life — are participating in the programme.

The Disclosure API enables organisations disclosing to CDP to transfer environmental data automatically from their software provider's platform into the CDP Portal, reducing manual data entry and streamlining the reporting process. CDP's software Accredited Solutions Providers support organisations in collecting, organising and reporting environmental data, and the API integration deepens their role in the disclosure ecosystem. The 2024 expansion makes the API available to a wider range of organisations and, for the first time, extends access to subnational government entities.

Automating data transfer addresses a key friction point in environmental disclosure, particularly for companies managing large volumes of operational data across multiple facilities and geographies. Reducing manual entry lowers the risk of reporting errors and enables more consistent year-on-year comparisons. This is increasingly important as CSRD and other mandatory frameworks require companies to provide detailed, auditable environmental data that meets assurance standards comparable to financial reporting.

CDP's software accreditation programme is central to its strategy of making high-quality environmental disclosure accessible to a broader base of organisations. With CSRD applying to 50,000 EU businesses and value chain reporting requirements extending to non-EU suppliers, demand for integrated software solutions capable of meeting multiple regulatory standards simultaneously is expected to grow significantly through 2025 and 2026.
