CDP Launches API for 2025 Disclosure Cycle Enabling Direct Data Transfer

CDP has launched a Disclosure API for the 2025 reporting cycle, allowing organisations to transfer environmental data directly from third-party software platforms into the CDP Portal, reducing manual data entry and improving the accuracy and efficiency of sustainability reporting. The API is available for the full corporate questionnaire, the SME questionnaire, the Cities questionnaire, and the States and Regions questionnaire.

CDP's 2025 Disclosure API is being rolled out in partnership with a selection of software Accredited Solutions Providers and other organisations as part of a structured programme for the current disclosure cycle. The API enables organisations that use software ASPs for environmental data collection and management to transfer data directly into CDP's reporting portal, streamlining a process that has historically required significant manual reconciliation between corporate systems and disclosure platforms.

The API supports disclosures in any language that CDP accepts for scoring purposes, although only English versions of the questionnaire are currently shared via the API. The four questionnaire types now covered — corporate full, SME, cities, and states and regions — reflect the breadth of CDP's disclosure ecosystem, which spans companies of all sizes, municipalities, and subnational governments. The initiative addresses a longstanding barrier for organisations managing large volumes of environmental data across multiple business units or geographies.

The launch of CDP's Disclosure API is part of a broader trend toward interoperability between sustainability data platforms and regulatory reporting frameworks. As organisations face increasing demands from multiple mandatory disclosure regimes simultaneously, tools that reduce duplication of data entry while maintaining audit-ready data provenance are becoming essential infrastructure. For large Indian conglomerates and multinational groups with complex sustainability data collection requirements, the API pathway represents a significant reduction in the operational burden of CDP disclosure.
