Diamond Power Commissions 8th EHV Cable Line to Boost Renewable Energy Supply

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has commissioned its eighth Medium Voltage and Extra High Voltage power cable production line at its Vadodara, Gujarat manufacturing facility. The expansion strengthens capacity in cable segments critical to renewable energy evacuation and urban underground power networks.

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL), listed on NSE as DIACABS and on BSE as scrip code 522163, disclosed the commissioning through a regulatory filing on June 3, 2026. The new production line adds to the company's manufacturing footprint at its Vadodara facility, which produces cables used across power transmission networks, renewable energy evacuation systems, metro rail, airports, data centres, and industrial infrastructure.

The MV and EHV cable segment is technically demanding and strategically significant: reliable underground cable networks are essential infrastructure for integrating large-scale wind and solar projects into India's grid. With two additional MV/EHV lines currently under installation at the same facility, DPIL is positioning itself to capture rising demand as India accelerates its clean energy transition and urban electrification programmes.

From an ESG perspective, expanded domestic manufacturing of high-voltage cables reduces import dependence for a supply chain input that is directly enabling the country's decarbonisation ambitions. The commissioning of the eighth production line also represents investment in Gujarat's industrial ecosystem, with downstream benefits for local employment and the state's renewable energy corridor development.
