EcoVadis Adds SGS and QIMA to Supply Chain Sustainability Audit Network

Business sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis announced the expansion of its Partnership and Alliance network with the addition of testing and certification company SGS and supply chain compliance provider QIMA, enabling EcoVadis clients to access accredited on-site audit and verification services when ESG assessments identify supply chain risks. SGS has a network of more than 800 expert auditors globally.

The new audit services address a gap identified by EcoVadis clients who require targeted verification and remediation support when risks are flagged in EcoVadis sustainability assessments. Previously, EcoVadis provided ratings and assessments but referred clients independently to audit providers. By integrating SGS and QIMA into its Partnership and Alliance ecosystem, EcoVadis creates a more complete service model covering assessment, identification of risk, on-site verification, and remediation monitoring. The expansion follows the recent launch of EcoVadis' Worker Voice Connect solution for anonymous worker grievance reporting.

SGS is one of the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification companies, with a global network that provides substantial geographic coverage for supply chain audits. QIMA specializes in supply chain compliance and quality assurance, with particular depth in Asia and other major manufacturing regions. For EcoVadis clients in consumer goods, apparel, electronics, and food sectors — all of which have significant supply chain exposure in India and other Asian manufacturing hubs — the ability to deploy accredited audit services alongside EcoVadis ratings provides an end-to-end sustainability due diligence capability.

The addition of audit services to EcoVadis' ecosystem comes as the EU's CSDDD and similar supply chain due diligence regulations globally create legal obligations for companies to identify, prevent, and remediate human rights and environmental risks in their value chains. Ratings-based approaches to supplier assessment are increasingly being complemented by direct audit verification, particularly for higher-risk supplier relationships or markets. For Indian manufacturers assessed by EcoVadis as part of global supply chain programs, the new audit capability may result in more on-site verification activity from international customers pursuing due diligence compliance.
