EcoVadis and Workiva Integrate Platforms to Streamline Scope 3 Supply Chain Reporting

Sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis and reporting solutions company Workiva have announced a strategic partnership to connect supply chain carbon emissions data directly into corporate Scope 3 disclosure reports. The integration links EcoVadis' Carbon Data Network with Workiva Carbon, replacing industry average emission factors with verified primary supplier data.

EcoVadis launched its Carbon Data Network last year as a data exchange enabling procurement teams to pull suppliers' primary carbon emission data directly into their Scope 3 reporting frameworks. Under the new partnership, this verified supplier data will flow directly into Workiva Carbon, Workiva's carbon data management and reporting solution, with EcoVadis serving as the data engine and Workiva handling calculation, audit trail, and disclosure. The integration targets the significant gap between reported Scope 3 figures based on industry averages and actual supply chain emissions.

Accurate Scope 3 data is increasingly important as mandatory sustainability reporting frameworks such as IFRS S2, the EU's CSRD, and the ESRS require companies to disclose value chain emissions with greater precision. The shift from estimated to verified supplier data enables companies to identify the highest-emitting points in their supply chains, prioritise engagement, and demonstrate measurable progress on decarbonisation to investors and regulators. EcoVadis SVP Climate Dexter Galvin said replacing industry averages with verified supplier insights is foundational to meaningful climate action.

The partnership will serve mutual customers of both companies, providing combined workflows for supply chain engagement, decarbonisation planning, and external disclosure. Workiva Chief Sustainability Officer Mandi McReynolds noted that as sustainability reporting becomes mandatory in more jurisdictions, companies need systems that connect carbon data with financial data in a single audit-grade environment. The EcoVadis-Workiva integration is designed to meet this requirement by combining supply chain intelligence with a platform that already serves corporate financial and risk reporting needs.
