IFC names Bureau Veritas first global verifier for Building Resilience Index

The International Finance Corporation announced a global partnership with Bureau Veritas, designating it the first global verifier for IFC's Building Resilience Index (BRI), advancing the credibility and scale of climate-resilience verification for built infrastructure. The BRI is a digital framework helping developers, investors, and public-sector stakeholders assess natural-hazard risks to buildings and transparently disclose resilience measures. Bureau Veritas will extend BRI verification across emerging economies in Latin America, Africa, East Asia, and the Pacific, regions acutely vulnerable to extreme climate events including floods, cyclones, wildfires, and heatwaves.

Developers, investors, and public-sector stakeholders in high-risk geographies are directly affected, gaining access to independent evaluations of building-level adaptation measures.
