Green Project Technologies Acquires Emitwise to Strengthen Scope 3 Supply Chain Offering

Carbon management software provider Green Project Technologies announced an agreement to acquire the technology platform of UK-based Scope 3 solutions provider Emitwise, creating an integrated one-stop platform for supply chain carbon management. Emitwise co-founders Ben Peddie and Eduardo Gomez will join Green Project Technologies following the acquisition.

Founded in 2019, Emitwise provides procurement-focused Scope 3 decarbonisation tools that enable procurement teams to automatically access supplier data, manage engagement, verify supplier emissions calculations, benchmark suppliers with scorecards and build carbon factors into negotiation variables. The company also offers an AI-powered Product Carbon Footprint Calculator for suppliers. New York-based Green Project Technologies provides web-based carbon accounting, supplier engagement, reporting and advisory services, and was acquired by environmental solutions provider ACT Group in 2023.

The acquisition consolidates procurement-focused supplier emission data capabilities with Green Project's audit-grade corporate carbon accounting platform, creating a more comprehensive offering for enterprise clients managing complex value chain emissions. As regulatory requirements for Scope 3 reporting tighten under CSRD, California SB 253 and the evolving UK SRS framework, demand for integrated supply chain carbon accounting solutions is increasing across large corporations in Europe and North America.

Sam Stark, CEO of Green Project, cited the complementary nature of the two platforms, combining Emitwise's automated broad supplier coverage with Green Project's audit-grade accounting and ACT Group's global reach. The deal positions the combined entity as a comprehensive solution for enterprise supply chain decarbonisation. For Indian suppliers to multinationals facing Scope 3 data requests from European or North American buyers, the capabilities of combined platforms such as this will increasingly define the data formats and engagement processes they are required to participate in.
