IEEFA Names Paige Nguyen Director to Lead Asia Strategy

Paige Nguyen has taken on the role of Director of IEEFA's Asia team, responsible for shaping the organisation's research strategy and stakeholder engagement across one of the world's most energy-intensive regions. She brings nearly two decades of experience spanning renewable energy communications, ministerial advisory roles, and journalism.

Nguyen leads IEEFA's Asia team with responsibility for executing regional strategy, amplifying research visibility, and ensuring recommendations reach policymakers, industry leaders, and financial institutions. Her background includes serving as a renewable energy and communications ministerial adviser, roles as a journalist and communications specialist, and experience as a publisher. She holds a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science from the University of Adelaide.

The Asia region is central to the global energy transition, accounting for the majority of new energy demand growth and fossil fuel consumption. IEEFA's Asia team research covers LNG markets, coal phase-out trajectories, and clean energy financing across economies including India, China, and Southeast Asia. Having a director with deep communications and policy expertise is intended to sharpen the translation of technical energy finance analysis into actionable policy guidance for regional governments and investors.

Under Nguyen's leadership, the Asia team is expected to intensify engagement with financial institutions and policymakers on decarbonisation timelines and investment risks associated with fossil fuel expansion. IEEFA's Asia research has increasingly focused on India's electrification agenda and China's role in LNG demand, areas where Nguyen's cross-sector experience is expected to strengthen the organisation's influence.
