Persefoni Launches Agentic AI Feature for Emissions Data Analysis on Its Platform
Sustainability software provider Persefoni has launched the Persefoni Analytics Agent, a new agentic AI feature enabling users to interact with their emissions data through plain language prompts directly within the Persefoni platform. The tool is designed to accelerate the analysis and understanding of corporate carbon footprints, supporting faster responses to stakeholder questions and more granular performance comparisons.
Founded in 2020, Persefoni provides software and AI-driven tools for carbon footprint management and sustainability reporting, with capabilities spanning emissions calculation, decarbonisation strategy, and audit-ready disclosures. The Analytics Agent allows users to generate tailored charts and tables, explore emissions footprints in depth, and pull in additional ledger attributes for more specific analysis using natural language prompts. The company said the feature is grounded in its CO2e Activity Ledger, maintaining the platform's standards of traceability and transparency.
The launch reflects growing demand from companies to quickly interpret emissions data, identify drivers of footprint changes, and compare performance across business units and reporting periods. As sustainability, finance, and compliance teams take on increasingly complex emissions reporting requirements, the ability to generate targeted analysis without relying on pre-defined dashboards or manual spreadsheet work is becoming a competitive requirement. Persefoni said the agent addresses the need for tools that go beyond surface-level visibility.
Persefoni has raised $179 million from institutional investors and serves more than 500 enterprise customers globally, with 9,000-plus organisations across its products. The introduction of agentic AI capabilities reflects a broader trend in enterprise sustainability software toward AI-driven analytical interfaces, reducing the time between data collection and actionable insight. As Indian companies scale their sustainability reporting under BRSR and prepare for potential mandatory ISSB-aligned disclosures, platforms with embedded analytical AI could reduce the resource burden of compliance.
