Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited reported combined domestic and international sales of 59,790 units for May 2026, compared to 42,040 units in April 2026. The year-on-year growth of 42% was mirrored in VAHAN registrations, which surged more than 50% YoY. The strong performance has solidified Tata Motors' position as the number two passenger vehicle brand in India based on VAHAN registration data.

The standout metric for May 2026 was electric vehicle sales, which hit a new monthly record of 10,517 units — a jump of 85% year-on-year compared to 5,685 units in May 2025. This figure includes sales from Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary. The EV surge underscores Tata's expanding lead in the Indian electric mobility segment as consumer adoption accelerates and the charging ecosystem matures.
